Who Else taking Acarbose for longevity?
I started taking Acarbose about 6 months ago after reading the ITP studies that showed a that it and rapamycin are the only two drugs approved for human use that have been shown to significantly improve lifespan in mammals. The national institute on aging is now doing a study that combines the two to see the impact on mice.
I started with 25mg with every meal, then after a week moved up to 50mg with every meal, and I'm now at 100mg with every meal. Generally its fine - but if there are more carbs in the meal it seems you get a lot more flatulance / gas. Generally I do a low carb diet. I plan to get a continuous glucose monitor in the near future to help me track the blood sugar / insulin impact over time.

I also take 6 to 10mg of rapamycin in one dose each week.
Here is some of the recent research on Acarbose. I purchase it from Indiamart.com at a cost of about $.24 per 50mg tablet. Let me know if you are using it, and your price...
Research background:
Acarbose has sex-dependent and -independent effects on age-related physical function, cardiac health, and lipid biology
"ACA extends life span by ~15% in males but has a smaller (~5%) effect on life span in females. ACA blunts postprandial glucose uptake from the small intestine by inhibiting α-glycosidases and, thus, slows breakdown of complex carbohydrates to absorbable sugars "
