SGLT2

Looking for a source for SGLT2 (Jardiance, Forxiga, etc.); if you're not familiar, review Bill Faloon's latest 20 minute discussion of same on this site; will probably need to be an overseas pharmacy; any suggestions appreciated

  • Canadian mail order pharmacies are greatly cheaper. Be aware jarvidance may raise your cholesterol LDL, otherwise appears safe. I wish I could dose at 5 mg pills but 10mg is their lowest and they are timed released.

Michael although both are meds for diabetes, I would not say it’s a replacement.

  • Fred, go to bottom of the page and punch the see video icon . It comes up when I hit the keyboard  The video that comes up on my computer is mostly through the presentation. You need to take the time bar at bottom of the video back to beginning.

    Good luck.

Those who want to go the herbal route, see below:

    https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S2667031322000112

    •  Another study showed that methanol extract of root of Sophora flavescens Aiton and its active flavonoid antioxidants like Kuwarinone, Sophorafalvanone G, Kushenol K, and Kushenol N, inhibited SGLT2 by 99.7% in hSGLT2- COS1 cells (Sato et al., 2007)
    • Furthermore, Qu and his groups demonstrated that 1 mg/ml concentration of ethanolic extract of Schisandra chinensis (Turcz) Baill. resulted in 89% of SGLT1 and 73% of SGLT2 inhibition in hSGLT1/2-COS-7 cells (Qu et al., 2015).

Juan Daw Schisandra is known to be an adaptogen. I'm not aware of a glucose lowering effect in practice.  But I was testing with herbal alternatives for acarbose. White kidney bean extract and Arabinose were effective, as evident by giving myself a standard chow of granola cereal and testing my postprandial glucose level. ~37 point reduction compared to control (me eating granola with no glucose support). That was 1 hour after meal. Glucose was back to normal levels after 2 hours.
