Juan Daw Schisandra is known to be an adaptogen. I'm not aware of a glucose lowering effect in practice. But I was testing with herbal alternatives for acarbose. White kidney bean extract and Arabinose were effective, as evident by giving myself a standard chow of granola cereal and testing my postprandial glucose level. ~37 point reduction compared to control (me eating granola with no glucose support). That was 1 hour after meal. Glucose was back to normal levels after 2 hours.
