Tracking daily steps
Just got on the steps band wagon.
Who is tracking their daily steps?
What are you averaging?
What changes have you noticed?
To provide some value, here's a link.

Thank you!

I've been tracking them for years, since I got my first Garmin watch. I'm presently averaging about 8800 (according to the Garmin tracking web page). I actually have a daily target of 5k, which I've hit for years, but spend longer on the treadmill two days each week (usually) which raises the average.
I haven't noticed any changes, but my routine hasn't changed in years.
I can say that I walk faster than some other people I pass on the sidewalk (when I go out, less often these days).

Two weeks in I'm averaging over 20K steps daily (just a 10 hour day) and on days I'm not doing cardio.
I'm not sure tracking steps is a useful metric.

That's a lot of steps, what do you do that involves so much walking?
MHO, tracking steps is easy & it at least helps get some people off the couch. :-)
