Fisetin experimentation one year (reposted as topic for info purposes)

Hello everyone I wanted to make my first post here as I have been doing a fisetin routine for a year now just about and I have results that are not placebo and very profound. I honestly do not know if this is the senylotic effect or some kind of interaction with fisetin in other ways.

To get it out of the way, I will give the fast and short version. I am taking Swanson’s Fisetin. I take around 2g a day for 3 days( now 2.5g). I repeat this for 3 or 4 times with varying intervals (I was trying to find optimal intervals).

My my first regimen was 3 days treatment with a 2 week delay, then a 3 week delay, then a 4 week delay, then a 2 month delay. I am now convinced a 3 week delay is the minimal amount of time you want taking this the way I am, though I will continue with 4 week delay for safety sake and because of my own observations.

So results. Well I feel like this must play on hormone levels in the short term. Immediately after starting a 3 day regimen, usually on day 2 or 3 I feel strong as hell. In particular my legs are tight and super strong. My muscles in general are firmer and overall strength is amazing. My mind is clear, thinking concise anddynamic. I feel more dominant, self confident, and aggressive. Libido is enhanced as well. This all led me to believe that this acts as a testosterone mimic or elevates testosterone in the blood which is why I cycle monthly and then take a few months off every so often.

i can tell you that at the age of 43 this makes me legitimately remember what early 20s feels like. The effects of one 3 day regimen last strongly for 2 weeks and even on for 4 weeks. In particular during week one and two I was amazed at the amount of pure emotion and clarity of the world around me. I could hear and appreciate sounds and colors seemed more vibrant. Mentally I am on overdrive with super memory and crystal clear logical thinking. I remember the first time I took this I was shocked. I was in a cafe just looking at a coke I had bought in a glass amazed at how more real and present it looked. A small thing but it was profound just how the world seemed more alive. It literally felt like going back in time 20 years.

So for long term effects. A stronger posture, better muscle tone, improved gum health, vastly more energy, in fact this has become all the norm after around 8 months of this. Many of the effects I described in the first two weeks following a 3 day regimen do taper off to an extent, but never completely.

As far as side effects there has not been anything thus far. When you are taking the 3 day dose you might get amped up a little jittery but that gives way quickly after the last dosage and it normalizes into a even effect that is positive in nature. I was very concerned about hair loss as I could not believe how impactful this was. But I have noticed no hair loss at all. I cycle it with a 3 or 4 week break to ensure that there is no negative effect on hair or otherwise. With a two week interval I had some scalp itchiness. That was enough to back me off to to four week intervals.

I honestly think that most of what I experienced is not the senylotic effect. It’s way too fast and profound. But I have no ill effects and feel incredible. And overall I have a youthful vigor and look and feel younger. I think a senylotic evaluation, as far as a laymen just observing himself goes ,can only really be done after 2 years or so. However the initial results ( especially gum health) and from what else I can observe are overwhelmingly positive.

I can tell you that this does have an affect and it is profound and noticeable. How much of this is hormone I do not know. But I have other improved health as well, however it’s always tricky to quantify this objectively yourself sometimes.

Good luck on your experiments. Let me know if this has the same effect for you. I just bought Swanson’s with nouvestein. Nothing fancy. Cheap and on amazon.

  • I have tried putting the 4 capsules content into extra virgin olive oil. It was absolutely disgusting! A bitter taste, powder did not dissolve well.. Guys, how do you resolve it? Are you choking on 10-15 pills, ingest pure powder or use some other way. Please share some advice.

Andrew Whitfield I am not sure what brand of Fisetin you are using... most of the ones I use blend in well with olive oil.... true a bit grainy but not the end of the world. I use Swanson brand or Doctors Best...it i very thick and heavy I polish it down with water with each spoonful.

Andrew Whitfield I am late to the discussion but I wonder why you are trying to dissolve the capsules in oil before taking them. I see you are not the only one doing so.

    • Jennifer Smith It is never too late :) Actually, I am using powder from China, 99%. Not pills. This is much cheaper, but, if course, you don't know what exactly you get there.

I straight up take 30 pills one by one. I do this three days in a row. I found that i should wait 24 days between dosing.

2 grams seems like a very sufficient dose.

Do you find that 3 grams is noticeably better or different than 2 grams?

Fred Cloud  2 grams of Vitamin C is a pathetic dose. Consider that animals that make Vitamin C DO NOT get cardiovascular disease. Also consider the fact that most animals that make their own Vitamin C make about the human equivalent of 15 grams per day.

So an adequate dose would be about 12-16 grans/day divided into 4 doses throughout the day.

Randy B I think that Fred Cloud was writing about fisetin not vitamin C.  Are you saying that there is a relationship between fisetin dosing and Vitamin C dosing?

David H  I think you are right. Apologies for any confusion. As for C/Fisetin I do not know of any relationship between the two

Fred Cloud well I prefer 3g as its not dangerous. I also weigh around 230. I get a very nice effect from it. I typically take it on an empty stomach before going to bed now. These translated doses from mice are lower for humans as they calculate for metabolism but i felt like 800mg more would not be harmful and what if their translated doses were not super relative for the senolytic effect.

  • Well, I've ordered some fisetin from ebay derived from cotinus coggygria, 98%. Used kitchen scales to measure, so I have put 0.8g to the yoghurt and used it.

After ~1 hour I have felt a bit lightheaded, some minor tachycardia and a boost of energy like from caffeine. A little upset stomach, but very mildly.

I will try 1g tomorrow, let's see how it goes further.

    •  So I did a 3-day course of 1.2g. Did not notice much of an effect, but no side effects either.

Two months have passed, I am going to repeat now. I am again trying low dose first as my perindopril was changed to valsartan, so again careful on new medication combinations. I will report.

Yeah 2g or even better 3g give the best results for me but take it easy because we are different

I got this and eat it on buttered toast. All good. Doing a high dose 2 days in a row. This was maybe $50 on ebay. Came with papers saying it was tested pure etc.

Jennifer Smith it is not the purity of the product it is the availablity of the product to get in the blood stream. I think that if you eat it with butter that that should help availability. But if you want to try a much higher available product try LE Bio Fisetin. There is research on that one. I have tried regular Fiseten maybe 12 or 15 times and the Bio Fisetin two times... i feel the Bio Fisetin seems more powerful....course i do large amounts of both products.... 10 a day / for 3 day of Bio Fiseten and 2200 mgs of Fiseten / for 3 days

Jennifer Smith I do not know where you got this from but alway take overseas supplies with huge caution. there could easily be pollution from heavy metals.. Just because they are from India does not mean that they are high quaility. I had my losartan Blood pressure drug recalled because of pollution from Cancer causing agents. And many studies have found large amounts of heavy metals in foreign herbs from India and China... that to me is taking  a huge risk...to save a few pennies...

garland I also eat a pouch of dehydrated strawberries with it, just in case there are symbiotic compounds or something. I also hope that by chewing it up it will also help absorption. I am making this stuff up as I go so was happy to stumble onto this forum. I was actually researching a stock trade when that research led to this research. I have no education or history in either field. Isn't this fun!!!

Jennifer Smith keep in mind that dehydrated strawberries, unless they are strictly organic, have a lot of pesticides.

I thank you for your reply first and foremost. I didn't buy it with price in mind but did go the big bag based on price. This came with paperwork saying it was tested and blah blah blah but I bought an RX at Walmart once that I think wasn't what it was supposed to be. The ad on eBay also talks about all the right stuff, agreeing with you on being careful of supplies. It seems to me to be a crapshoot on who to trust these days on anything but especially our own health.

Hi Fisetin Fans, I just discovered this site and have read all 122 comments which are mostly from David C. Thank you David for sharing your results in detail. I have been following and posting on a similar thread which you might find interesting here:

    https://www.fightaging.org/archives/2018/10/animal-data-shows-fisetin-to-be-a-surprisingly-effective-senolytic/#comment-35827

Here is my experience so far. I am 71 so mostly interested in the longer, slower senolytic effects not the short term ones that David has shown. I used the Mayo Clinic protocol which resulted in 1.5 grams a day for 2 days (based on my 70kg weight). Repeat after one month and again after 6 months. I have tried breaking up the capsules and mixing with olive oil and just taking them with water. Results after one year have been disappointing. Like most people here and on the other forum I feel no positive changes in aging related health problems, of which I have few.

I am concerned about the low bio-availablilty of Fisetin. I've read that the solubility in water is only 0.151 mg per ml. This works out to 571 mg per US gallon so you should be really drinking about 2 gallons of water per gram!!

I know that LE has come out with bio-fisetin that contains a special fiber but they show no links to any science that proves this works although someone wrote here that it was proven. Please provide us a link on that. Also LE has a mix of 3 nutracetils that they call Senolytic Activator but there is no science on that either.

I will continue to search for a senolytic that provides results for humans, not just mice but so far it doesn't seem to be matching up.

    • Dean W. Thats shocking. I definitely feel an effect from taking fisetin as a senolytic. What brand were you using? There are other senolytics out there, you may have to try those instead. Have you tried other antiaging things like rapamycin etc ?

Dean W. Dr. Green recommends 500 mg Vitamin C to help with bioavailability. Here is a post from Dr. B. concerning senolytics. There are only two studies that senolytics increase lifespan in any animals. In one of the two, Fisetin slightly, with minimal statistical significance, increased lifespan in a few mice see Fig. 5A. No further confirmation. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6197652/

Fred Cloud Like most here I get my fisetin from Swansons in 100 mg capsules. Please list the positive effects you have noticed and your age. I suspect David C. is way too young to have many senolytic cells as  it takes at least 50 or so replications before a cell either dies (usually) or lingers in the senescent state (<1%).

Van That is why fisetin is disappointing I guess. It barely works in mice. I am going to look into the Dastinab/quercitin method. That is the route that showed so much promise in mice. BTW, I do take 500mg of C daily.

    • Dean W.  Your cells can become senescent for reasons other than hitting the cell division limit.

      https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2020/09/200929123530.htm

I have seen positive reports from younger people.  fairy8i8 on here has reported positive effects from senolytics in her 30s.

Dean W. Same with me.  I have taken Fistein, Dasatinib, and nothing to show for it.  Rapamycin, Metformin is best combination I have found.  Lost 25 lbs.  Losing weight is a big boost to health.  Tracking my blood test results is best way to see if anything is working.  If you have to same blood work up as when you were under 50, you are doing well.
