Fisetin experimentation one year (reposted as topic for info purposes)

Hello everyone I wanted to make my first post here as I have been doing a fisetin routine for a year now just about and I have results that are not placebo and very profound. I honestly do not know if this is the senylotic effect or some kind of interaction with fisetin in other ways.

To get it out of the way, I will give the fast and short version. I am taking Swanson’s Fisetin. I take around 2g a day for 3 days( now 2.5g). I repeat this for 3 or 4 times with varying intervals (I was trying to find optimal intervals).

My my first regimen was 3 days treatment with a 2 week delay, then a 3 week delay, then a 4 week delay, then a 2 month delay. I am now convinced a 3 week delay is the minimal amount of time you want taking this the way I am, though I will continue with 4 week delay for safety sake and because of my own observations.

So results. Well I feel like this must play on hormone levels in the short term. Immediately after starting a 3 day regimen, usually on day 2 or 3 I feel strong as hell. In particular my legs are tight and super strong. My muscles in general are firmer and overall strength is amazing. My mind is clear, thinking concise anddynamic. I feel more dominant, self confident, and aggressive. Libido is enhanced as well. This all led me to believe that this acts as a testosterone mimic or elevates testosterone in the blood which is why I cycle monthly and then take a few months off every so often.

i can tell you that at the age of 43 this makes me legitimately remember what early 20s feels like. The effects of one 3 day regimen last strongly for 2 weeks and even on for 4 weeks. In particular during week one and two I was amazed at the amount of pure emotion and clarity of the world around me. I could hear and appreciate sounds and colors seemed more vibrant. Mentally I am on overdrive with super memory and crystal clear logical thinking. I remember the first time I took this I was shocked. I was in a cafe just looking at a coke I had bought in a glass amazed at how more real and present it looked. A small thing but it was profound just how the world seemed more alive. It literally felt like going back in time 20 years.

So for long term effects. A stronger posture, better muscle tone, improved gum health, vastly more energy, in fact this has become all the norm after around 8 months of this. Many of the effects I described in the first two weeks following a 3 day regimen do taper off to an extent, but never completely.

As far as side effects there has not been anything thus far. When you are taking the 3 day dose you might get amped up a little jittery but that gives way quickly after the last dosage and it normalizes into a even effect that is positive in nature. I was very concerned about hair loss as I could not believe how impactful this was. But I have noticed no hair loss at all. I cycle it with a 3 or 4 week break to ensure that there is no negative effect on hair or otherwise. With a two week interval I had some scalp itchiness. That was enough to back me off to to four week intervals.

I honestly think that most of what I experienced is not the senylotic effect. It’s way too fast and profound. But I have no ill effects and feel incredible. And overall I have a youthful vigor and look and feel younger. I think a senylotic evaluation, as far as a laymen just observing himself goes ,can only really be done after 2 years or so. However the initial results ( especially gum health) and from what else I can observe are overwhelmingly positive.

I can tell you that this does have an affect and it is profound and noticeable. How much of this is hormone I do not know. But I have other improved health as well, however it’s always tricky to quantify this objectively yourself sometimes.

Good luck on your experiments. Let me know if this has the same effect for you. I just bought Swanson’s with nouvestein. Nothing fancy. Cheap and on amazon.

  • John Ramos One thing seems pretty clear and that is that fats may help with absorption....for both Fisetin and Kaempferol. For that reason, I make smoothies with  the powder with 2 tablespoons of olive oil. I use vanilla flavored whey protein to make the shakes tastier and to get that protein... especially if I use it as a meal. My shakes are varieties of organic berries, including strawberries, blueberries, and red/black raspberries. Plus water, which helps with congealing

    • Thomas E Eliopulos Which brand of Fisetin are you taking, I have some bulk but when I did 3g/day for 3 days, I didn't notice anything....Got some coming from Swanson... and Kaempferol is expensive...I'm also taking Quercetin, Luteolin, and Fucoidan among other things...

  • Yes, I did read David C's posts...

Regarding Fisetin, I bought from a bulk supplier, was the right color, light yellow, supposed to be 98%, sang all the right bells. So, I did 3g/day for 3days with a month off. I felt nothing. Some say the have positive reactions to doing this protocol.

Here is the interesting thing, I have a supplier in China that I have been buying from since 2015, always the right paperwork and excellent pricing. But, I have to buy 1kg at a time, some of these supplements are ether expensive or so much quantity that that you won't use it in a year or 2.

Here is their pricing, notice 50%, how many of the suppliers say it's 98%, we may be buying 50% in some cases. Shipping is $35 single kilo.

For Fisetin 98%,the price is $ 890/kg FOB Shanghai.
For Fisetin 50%,the price is $359/kg FOB Shanghai.

I have some from Vitacost(60 caps) which I know to be real, some from Wellness Resources(90 caps) and some coming from Swanson's(60 caps). So far I took the bulk from another supplier, AgeLessExtracts that I didn't have a reaction from but they have 5 star feedback. Doesn't mean it's not good but no reaction in my case.

What brand are you taking that you're getting a reaction from and what kind of reaction did you get?

    Thanks, John

  • Wake up forum. It has been said that everybody has cancer but when you get older the immune system fails and the cancer runs free. On a different web site many of my fellow prostate cancer survivors developed the cancer when in the mid 40s. Breast cancer can appear in women in the mid 30s.

I am Gleason 9/3b but my PSA can't be detected! This is a miracle.

I strongly believe taking monthly rounds of fisetin when you are younger just might result in a far better life -perhaps cancer free- as you age. 1 in 7 men will get prostate cancer.

Just because you can't notice or feel something after taking fisetin does not mean it was a waste of time. The great benefit might happen later on in life.

  • Yea this is definitely possible. We just lack the studies to support it definitively. I am glad this has helped you. I lean towards Fisetin definitely being an anti cancer compound just by how it helps clean up the tissue environment.

“icariin impaired the activation of the NF-κB/EMT pathway, as evidenced by upregulation of SIRT6, resulting in inhibition of migration and invasion of breast cancer cells. Additionally, oss-128167, an inhibitor of SIRT6, dramatically attenuated anti-migration and anti-invasion effects of icariin. Transcriptomic analysis verified that impairment of NF-κB led to the selective function of icariin in breast cancer cells”

My understanding is that Icariin impaired activation of  NF-kB (which promote development of cancer) and upregulated Sirt6.  And  using  a Sirt6 inhibitor (oss-128167) reduce the effects of Icariin.

Staffan Olsson I don't understand the inhibition of SIRT6 either, you want to activate SIRT6, Fucoidan does activate it. It's all bunk on Amazon, I use this one Absunutrix  Fucoidan 500mg/cap on Ebay and take 1g/day.

  • Started this regimen 5 days ago.  1 gram of nmn and resveratrol along with 3 grams of fisetin and 1 gram of quercetin daily.  Plan on dropping back to 500 mg fisetin and quercetin daily but continuing with the dosage of nmn and resveratrol.  I'm a very active 66 year old male in excellent shape, but have experienced a decrease in energy levels over the past several years.  I'm here to tell you, I felt and immediate reaction to taking these supplements, developed a weird muscle twitch in my left forearm that lasted for 3 days, and a tingling burning sensation on the bottom of my left foot!  On the plus side felt a sustained increase in energy, libido, and an overall sense of well being.  I do find it that I don't sleep as sound but maybe I don't need the sleep.  I had given up drinking cause it often left me feeling dehydrated the next morning, but even had a couple of beers the last few days and felt great!

Van Moore I'm not taking Spermidine either, cost and I don't know if it's adding  enough to justify the cost. NMN, Trans-Resveratrol and AKG are big ones that don't break the bank. From what I've researched, Berberine taken at 500mg per day is sufficient. I can't get Metformin prescribed but I can buy a Kilo for $15, it's dirt cheap. I don't know it they can see it in a blood test, I'm with the VA and they are super careful.

Skin and hair feel and look more vibrant, and just feel better mentally and physically.

Will start the fisetin, quercetin 5 day routine in about another week.

  • My statement is just an unscientific observation. I look at the people my age and those who consumed alcohol have far more wrinkles on their faces and more intense medical problems. Of course the devil is in the details, how much and how often one consumes. Alcohol converts to sugar in your body. Over the course of 50 years that has got to take its toll. The hinges on your front door might last 200 years but if you abuse it you will never attain that maximum. Your hangover is a warning sign that bad things are happening within your body. The bad effects of a greasy bacon cheeseburger can't be negated with a Diet Coke or supplements.

    My two cents.

Joe F Agree totally, I only mean that before taking my current regimen having 2 glasses of wine and I'd feel like crap the next morning, so I quit.  Now I feel fine, so something is countering the harmful effects of the alcohol.  Not saying I'm going to start drinking again, but simply that I can.

  • Interesting. As you age you can tolerate less alcohol, a few glasses of wine can give a noticable hangover whereas when you were younger it did not bother you.  I do feel a bit more invigorated after a few days of fisetin. I truly believe fisetin does possess rejuvenating properties.  I can feel it. Vision is a bit more colorful. Perhaps more noticeable at the age of 70.

    • Joe F There is, of course, an interesting question which is whether improving the health of cells at a cellular level leads to a greater tolerance of alcohol.  I think for me (age 61) that is the case.

Van Moore Here is the list I promised...Longevity Supplements

Magnesium Pills 2,300/mg of Magnesium Malate gives you 400mg of elemental Magnesium 98% DV

       ALA – caps 600mg/day

Fucoidan caps 1g/day Sirt 6 activator

Glycine powder 1/g/day now, upping to 2g when it arrives.

Berberine Caps 1,200mg/day, trying to get metformin instead. Maybe someone else can help with this one.

      Ca-AKG powder 2G/DAY

Fermented Wheat Germ Extract 1g/day, I bought a Kilo, check the prices on Amazon, Hahaha

      TMG powder 1.5g/day

      Trans-Resveratrol powder 1g/day

NAC 2G/day, I have this in 1g tablets

NMN powder 1 – 1.5g/day I think 1.5 is more appropriate, you need to take a NAD+ test ($200) to determine, if you taking enough NMN, Richard (Modern Healthspan) took the test and upped his to 1.5g/day, I suspect I would also test the same.

Fisetin, Caps 20mg/kilo of body weight, 2 days in a row, with a 3-month break, you don’t want to completely clear out senescent cells, having some is beneficial and anti-cancer

Apigenin, this is one I’m really conflicted about, 16g of dried parsley is a daily dose, but that’s too hard to take. I can’t figure out a low-cost method of taking this in adequate amounts, maybe some else has a solution?
Most of the loose powders I take with Trader Joes full fat Honey yogurt

All of these have been heavily researched, I’m taking these amounts because of that fact. I hope I’ve covered everything.

John Ramos  Did you find a source for Apigenin?  You can get it at Swanson's vitamins. I just bought 2 bottles of it. It is also found in chamomille tea:

Of all the flavonoids, Apigenin is one of the most studied bioactive flavones. It is found mainly in vegetables, citrus fruits, herbs, tea, and wine. Chamomile is one of the richest natural sources of apigenin (840 mg/ 100 g) while Chamomile herbal infusions (where dried flower is infused into water) contain 0.8-1.2% apigenin mostly in the form of apigenin-7-O-glucoside.

Just recently read this exciting study that shows apigenin may be protective against Alzheimers. After screening 2560 compounds they found apigenin had this special property. Details:

Fisetin is another one that's hard to find the best dosing, 20/mg/kilo of bodyweight is the dose but take it for 2 days with a month or more and what's the proper break? Some say 5 days @ 20/mg/kilo of bodyweight, I'm doing 2 days right now but don't know the proper break.

I also found that taking Magnesium Threonate made a huge difference in clarity of thinking and memory. It crosses the Blood Brain barrier. Dosing on this one is a little murky. I have a kilo, won't run out any time soon.

    Thoughts?

John Ramos I've taken Mag Thre for years -- in the morning, but other mixed MG in evening.  Have you tried various cognitives for metal clarity, etc?  Ginkgo would qualify, but my favorite, over years, & used worldwide for decades is piracetam; helps balance right/left hemisphere, but other benefits too.  For years I had to buy from overseas, but these days I think even Amazon carries.

Michael_B Your message brings back memories, piracetam....

I stopped taking Ginkgo, I was getting unexplained bruises, they went away. Just an FYI. Also high doses of Fish oil will do the same thing.

"Ginkgo might slow blood clotting. Taking ginkgo along with medications that also slow blood clotting might increase the risk of bruising and bleeding."

I was taking piracetam(developed by the Russians for their space program) and I don't know why I quit. what is your dosing? I may start taking it again. I would stay away from Amazon, NMN was tested sourced from Amazon and only 2-3 actually had NMN.

Amazon doesn't have piracetam, lots of Mushroom formulations.

I would trust this source, comes from Poland, fast free shipping.

I use 3 other supplements from them, very high quality.

I may get it from China 2 excellent sources I've been from since 2015.

Do you a known good source?

      Dosage information

The standard piracetam dose for children is between 40-100mg per kilogram of bodyweight. This dose is intended for the treatment of breath-holding spells, though it has also been used for children with dyslexia. The lower end of the range (40-50mg/kg) is used most often.
The standard piracetam dose for adults is between 1,200-4,800mg a day. The largest effective dose is 1,600mg, taken three times a day for a total of 4,800mg.

John Ramos I've taken piracetam for 20+ years, with varying doses.  I've always bought tablets, probably mostly 800 mg each, and from 1-2 daily.

John Ramos Thanks for link; not familiar with that company.  I don't know why the "standard" piracetam tablets are not readily available, but maybe just temporary.  I'm not sure a powder from Poland vs product from AMZN is more or less disquieting.  I've bought vits from AMZN for many years, although only from top manufacturers.  Not only are those likely to be at a slight premium price, vs some generic, but both AMZN and especially the manufacturers would constantly be on lookout for counterfeit products.

Michael_B I can attest to NutraVita, really good quality, bought 3 supplements in pill form and judging from their low cost shipping, I think this one if shipping from the US.

Anyway, I would highly recommend them.

Name brand supplements from Amazon are trustworthy but NMN was tested , see the link

      https://www.prohealth.com/blogs/wellness/fake-fraudulent-nmn-products-on-amazon-exposed

Piracetam is classified as a research drug, that's why it's hard to find.

Michael_B I should point out that Piracetam is not very soluble, it should be taken with full fat yogurt, I use Trader Joes full fat honey yogurt makes everything very tasty.

  • Funny, just checked & although can search on AMZN for piracetam 800 mg, they do not seem to carry the produce now; maybe previously.  But I bought for years the brand sold by IAS, but just now, seems that their I think U.S. store is out of the product.  Odd, as this is one of the oldest cognitive drugs.  I still have a supply, so have a month or so to find a current source.

Generally, I'm more comfortable buying a name brand on AMZN, rather than from China, or even Indian source.  But most supplements there are several top manufacturers on AMZN;  I avoid lowest price items.  I just doubt that making erroneous piracetam or other items I buy from AMZN is prime area for criminals.

  • I'm checking with my source, truth to be told, I would say that about 80-85% of supplements come from China, they are excellent biochemists. I have 2 trusted sources that I have been using since 2015.

      David C

      1.  Buying:  I  noticed this morning that a few products of Fisetin are either out-of-stock, or the price has increased considerably.  I'm esp interested in 500 mg caps, but I saw one offering 1,000 mg.  And one 50 gram in powder form.  Recommendations?

      2.  Monitoring:  Personal feedback is super impt, but has anyone monitored some ez tools, e.g., blood pressure; Oximeter  readings; pulse, in addition to some blood work such as CR-P. LDL, PSA ?  Preferably, history of 6 months, including days before, during, & after F + Q dosing?

      3.  Including other info would also be helpful:  diet, exercise, supplements, any Rx drugs, etc.  Also age, weight, as well as either specific health issues, or at least a level of health issues.  Likely a 30 year-old, will have very different response than 70 y.o.  Also, one 70 y.o. in relatively good health, will not respond with same changes as someone with cancer, etc.

Possibly also helpful, would be health history / habits, over prior 5 - 20 years.  Someone whom spent youth drinking, and/or various drugs, likely have different senescent cells 30 years later.  Rx for SSRIs, statins, beta-blockers, etc., may also be of interest.

  • Yes, 20 mg/kg for 2 days is what I have been going by too. But I see no results! No difference in the way I feel. (I am 72.) Do you? (Everyone in this conversation should share their age, please, for the benefit of the science.)

This 20 number was arrived at, as far as I can tell, by someone at the Mayo Clinic while planning a long term study. It was probably based on translating a dose from mouse studies to humans which is not an exact science. Go back and read David C.'s rather amazing results. From what he wrote he is now about 45 so maybe just near the age of having senecent cell problems yet he continues to see benefits from the 3 grams for 3 days dose. Fisetin is non-toxic at even higher doses so safety is not a worry.

  • I use the Mayo dosage of 20 mg/Kg body weight for two consecutive days. I  repeat  every month and do it twice/month every other month.  I saw an immediate 20-25 % increase in my chin ups  and pull ups which was quantifiable and great improvement in my color vision which I cannot quantify. These improvements occurred immediately within a day of completing the first two day dose and have not diminished.

I will be 82 in Oct. and started about a 11/2  years ago.

Many others on this forum have reported similar responses to fistin.

  • @peter_h_how wow, 82 and kicking hard...I'm 76 and headed your way...LOL You've got the right dosage. What all benefits do you feel or notice? I notice some thing about vision, can't put my finger on it. Do you take the fisetin with a full fat yogurt, you should, it's very insoluble. Trader Joes Full fat honey yogurt .

  • I take the dose on empty stomach first thing in am. Do not eat for 3-4 hours after. Am on ~ 16-8 hr.  intermittent feeding schedule-- most of the time. As I indicated my pullups and chinups  increased by 25 %  ( from 20 to 25) the first day after the second dose with baseline determined in in standard exercise routine. This increase continues to this day. The improvement in color vision-- enhanced colors cannot be quantified.  The enhancement occurred the first day after the second dose and was initially noticed due to vivid color enhancement in flowers.

My response may be due to my age, although a number of others in this forum reported similar immediate improvements.
