How to increase the bioavailability of Fisetin

I'm preparing to do a Fisetin senolytic experiment, but I've read on the article from Mayo Clinic ( https://linkinghub.elsevier.com/retrieve/pii/S2352396418303736 ) that the administration mode was done through a mix of phosal and other stuff :

100 mg/kg of fisetin in 60% Phosal 50 PG:30% PEG400:10% ethanol

So the bioavailability of the Fisetin should be a key step for the treatment. I am looking for some information on how to increase the Fisetin bioavailability. Does anyone know of some methods to do this ?

  • Ajax Regarding the taste of fisetin when placed sublingually, if you take a miracle fruit tablet first and let it dissolve under the tongue, it seems to dial down the fisetin taste. I tried it just now and plan to continue it daily (500 mg/day) for the next few months to see if there's any effect.

Robert Uomini Well it certainly has a profound influence on my basal carcinoma and it put my prostate cancer PSA into "undetectable".

  • Now that I think about it, since fisetin is fat soluble, it would make sense to dissolve it in, say, some olive oil and put that under the tongue. It would absorb faster than just using the dry powder. It took over an hour for the stuff to get absorbed when I tried it.

Maximum absorption can be had by mixing it with oil, placing it in a capsule and inserting it into the rectum.

    • Joe F That was my theory, too, but so far, I haven't seen any effect. In my case, I used a syringe to inject the fisetin-oil mixture. I'll try again every week until my stash is used up.

  • @jgc  I've been taking/experiencing a fisetin combo for a few months now : doctor's best(3to4)+revgenetics(2to3) and noticed much better effect or absorption(?) than any of them alone then that is on a weekly basis 3 to 4 days out of 5!

Anybody taking the fisetin with olive oil feels any good effect?

    • wzis I really, really wanted to see some effect, but didn't (except for the drain on my wallet 😣). I dissolved 500 mg of fisetin in a little olive oil and took it daily for several months (added it to my morning bowl of oatmeal). The olive oil dissolved the fisetin, as expected, but had no visible effect. Then I tried taking 2.5 grams (10 250 mg capsules) it mixed with olive oil as a suppository, to avoid breaking down the fisetin in the GI tract. Still nothing. When my supply of capsules is used up, I don't plan to continue trying.

Robert Uomini Thanks for your sharing the experience. Many things which are supposedly good for health are not really showing good effects for many people to say the least, and cost lots of money. It's sad.

    • wzis I believe the science, but I'm not convinced that the lab experiments with mice translate to similarly benefits for humans.
