should rapamune be stopped for covid resurgence?

I have been taking 6 mg rapamune per week since mid-march but since covid is ramping up in Florida wonder if I should take a break?

  • I have read somewhere on this site that someone thought it would protect you from covid but because it lowers your immune system I would think you would be less protected.  Today is my day to take it and I am trying to decide.  What do you think??

linda Did you read the paper in the link?

      here is another:

      https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7834195/pdf/main.pdf

The literature and few studies suggest it's "protective" for viral infections. I am not a doctor nor giving medical advice.

I haven't stopped taking it, and considering upping to 8mg/week.

  • No, there is evidence that rapamycin aids the immune system at the doses that are used for anti-aging.  You need to ignore  whatever you read about using rapamycin after transplants, IMHO.  I have been taking 6mg to 8mg weekly for the past 16 months.
