Newbie here!

Hi everyone,

its awesome to find this forum and come across so many like minded people.

I have been taking NMN and Metformin for a while now and feeling great!

So i would like to now take dasatinib and my question is if I don’t have pure quercetin could I take another substitute which as 100mg Resveratrol, 100mg Curcumin and 200mg Quercetin.

Is there any reason to think this might  less effective?

Or is there a reason we should stick to pure Quercetin.

Would be great to here your thoughts?

Also I am in the Uk does anyone have any recommendations on any labs that might help with biomarkers related to aging?

many thanks,

Ed

I think more, rather than less, effective.  All 3 substances are CYP3A4 enzyme inhibitors.  This enzyme also affects Dasatinib.  Curcumin is a possible synolytic in its own right.

"Cytochrome P450 3A4 (abbreviated CYP3A4) (EC 1.14. 13.97) is an important enzyme in the body, mainly found in the liver and in the intestine. It oxidizes small foreign organic molecules (xenobiotics), such as toxins or drugs, so that they can be removed from the body."

    So I have an update:

Yesterday Monday morning  I took 12 x 20mg Dasatinib from Lucidas with a supplement that was a blend of 200mg quercetin, 100 mg curcumin and 100mg Resveratol. I took roughly 10 -15 capsules. I can’t remember exact amount.

I didn’t take any Metformin the previous night. I normally take 1000mg nor any NMN  or ally 500mg sub-lingual on the morning of the dasatinib protocol.

I was relatively fine during the day, but around the late afternoon I started warming up, around 7pm at home I started to have major cold shakes. I got very cold very quickly my teeth couldn’t stop chattering. I have read a little about Hypothermia and symptoms seems to be similar. I think an open patio door maybe triggered this.

No matter how I hard I tried I couldn’t get warm for love or money. I had an artic jacket on that can combat temperatures of -30C, A Duvet, Blankets, Heating cranked up and they had no effect I was still freezing cold with no end in sight.

Given how bad it was and having read online this was a serious side effect I went straight  to ER or as we say in UK A&E.

After numerous blood tests and Ihad about 8 and due in large part to waiting it out the symptoms wore off and i was dismissed around 8 hours later.

I would say the cold shakes lasted about 3 hours.

My HR was elevated and BP up, but both came down eventually.

Blood tests showed elevated lactate levels but came down after going on a drip.

All in all quite scary at the beginning as I had never experienced anything quite like it. Generally touch wood been in solid health.

I do have follow up of blood tests on Friday and week after to continue to monitor.

In regard to second dose my Girlfriend not keen on me to try another dose. With the benefit of hindsight I would have ridden it out.

Given its  Christmas next I might wait for two blood tests and the all clear before completing the second dose.

In general though tired as I left hospital at 4am I fell ok

    Symptoms were:

Massive drop in body temperature maybe due to low blood count. It really felt like i was at the top of everest. Started roughly 11 hours after I took the dose and was at it’s worse between hours 11-14

Had trouble walking felt light headed and quite stiff

Elevated HR and slightly elevated blood pressure.

After the cold wore off I felt:

    Dehydrated

i had some mild flu like symptoms

that’s it from me I will report on any noticeable improvements and blood test results.

Quercetin was used in the studies so why change?

    Larry,

The supplement did have Quercetin in there 200mg a capsule but it was a blend and also included Resveratrol and Curcumin.

I should have probably stuck to Quercetin only, but today I feel great a little tired but great nevertheless.

EVH Could also have been the NMN. I just go off everything a week to be on the safe side.

I really am feeling good. I was planning to take a second dose with Q only this time.

would you recommend I take the second dosage I am 46 years old?

The protocol i read was for two dosages one week apart?

    thanks

EVH I was cautious and took on dose 2000/200 Q&D 11 weeks apart. The first dose was amazing and second I felt nothing unusual except a headache. Everyone is a lab rat with senolytics so I don't know what to tell you.

    • EVH EVH Hi! May I ask what dose you plan to take? There are people taking 250 mg quercetin phytosome daily. Which might be the equivalent of up to 5000 mg regular quercetin. Personally I have taken this amount daily for months (right now I am on a break) my brother has taken it daily about 4-5months + every two weeks he has taken double dose senolytic activator. This has had an extraordinary effect on his extremely severe case of sarcoidosis.  I can not recommend any action for you.

But if you are considering safety or the risk for negative side effect our experience tell us that this has not happened with Quercetin. Taking Q as a standalone senolytic might not be an effective approach. You might consider a combination with teaflavines like in the senolytic activator combination.
