Thanks for the pointer to that. Yes its continually being proven to us that the 'body as machine' model is the best way to view the human system. Therefore if it's a flexible and malleable machine that implies we can manipulate it.
What continually surprises me is all the people I know who don't care to manipulate their bodies for better health, even in simple ways. They're OK with 'eat & exercise badly and die eventually'.
