Niacin (Vit B3) - Lowered my Cholesterol - 7 months experiment

Hi guys

My first post here, I'm really enjoying reading all of these experiments.

I know this forum is about age reversal, but having a high cholesterol level is also not good at all.

I just hit the 50 mark, and not happy about it LOL.

I'm originally from US- California, moved to Portugal 4 months back.

In the past few years, my annual physical blood tests showed high cholesterol level, and this past year, it got to 376, with LDL 231, and HDL 99 (done in CA), the dr prescribed the popular cholesterol med, but I didn't take it as I was busy planning my move to Portugal, and wanted to try some natural remedies first. So I started taking Niacin (Vit B3) no flush, 500 mg, one capsule a day on daily bases, started in May.22.

And with my last annual checkup (done in Portugal last month), my cholesterol level went down to 220, with LDL 114 (down from 231), and HDL 91, bacially my cholesterol is normal now, since the LDL is low, and its only 220 because the HDL (the good cholesterol) is high.

Please see screenshots of my tests, the first one was in May.22 done in the US, the 2nd one was last month Jan.23 done in Portugal (thats why you see Portuguese language).

I will be redoing these tests again in 6 months, to see if the cholesterol is still at good levels.

Please note that that I also follow low carb diet (5 days per week), I try my best not to eat fried food, fatty food, and I focus on olive oil. Also, I was doing this diet in the past years when I was in the US, the diet did not really do a thing to lower my cholesterol, as a matter of fact, it became higher in 2022, compared to 2020.

On another positive note: all blood tests, and many other tests, scans that I have done last month here in Portugal cost me almost nothing, compared to the cost in the US (even with my PPO insurance that was around $700 a month!).
