SGLT2

Looking for a source for SGLT2 (Jardiance, Forxiga, etc.); if you're not familiar, review Bill Faloon's latest 20 minute discussion of same on this site; will probably need to be an overseas pharmacy; any suggestions appreciated

Those who want to go the herbal route, see below:

    •  Another study showed that methanol extract of root of Sophora flavescens Aiton and its active flavonoid antioxidants like Kuwarinone, Sophorafalvanone G, Kushenol K, and Kushenol N, inhibited SGLT2 by 99.7% in hSGLT2- COS1 cells (Sato et al., 2007)
    • Furthermore, Qu and his groups demonstrated that 1 mg/ml concentration of ethanolic extract of Schisandra chinensis (Turcz) Baill. resulted in 89% of SGLT1 and 73% of SGLT2 inhibition in hSGLT1/2-COS-7 cells (Qu et al., 2015).

Rod C Thanks for the info on white bean extract. Motivates me to cook callos Madrileños and substitute the chick peas with  white beans.

For acarbose mimetics, been on bitter melon and mulberry leaf extract for two weeks. Haven't done any tests yet.

It looks to me like these herbal supplements have only been studied in vitro. And even if they do work, how do you determine a dose?

Karl plant sources vary with sunlight, soil, etc. but aravedic and Chinese herb medicine have always been less exact than western drug companies, but in this sglt2 case, plants are vastly cheaper than sglt2 drug prices. That is the trade off.

However if you have a glucose test kit, you can monitor blood glucose before and after over several days, and then average to get a best dose and strength estimate
