Fisetin experimentation one year (reposted as topic for info purposes)

Hello everyone I wanted to make my first post here as I have been doing a fisetin routine for a year now just about and I have results that are not placebo and very profound. I honestly do not know if this is the senylotic effect or some kind of interaction with fisetin in other ways.

To get it out of the way, I will give the fast and short version. I am taking Swanson’s Fisetin. I take around 2g a day for 3 days( now 2.5g). I repeat this for 3 or 4 times with varying intervals (I was trying to find optimal intervals).

My my first regimen was 3 days treatment with a 2 week delay, then a 3 week delay, then a 4 week delay, then a 2 month delay. I am now convinced a 3 week delay is the minimal amount of time you want taking this the way I am, though I will continue with 4 week delay for safety sake and because of my own observations.

So results. Well I feel like this must play on hormone levels in the short term. Immediately after starting a 3 day regimen, usually on day 2 or 3 I feel strong as hell. In particular my legs are tight and super strong. My muscles in general are firmer and overall strength is amazing. My mind is clear, thinking concise anddynamic. I feel more dominant, self confident, and aggressive. Libido is enhanced as well. This all led me to believe that this acts as a testosterone mimic or elevates testosterone in the blood which is why I cycle monthly and then take a few months off every so often.

i can tell you that at the age of 43 this makes me legitimately remember what early 20s feels like. The effects of one 3 day regimen last strongly for 2 weeks and even on for 4 weeks. In particular during week one and two I was amazed at the amount of pure emotion and clarity of the world around me. I could hear and appreciate sounds and colors seemed more vibrant. Mentally I am on overdrive with super memory and crystal clear logical thinking. I remember the first time I took this I was shocked. I was in a cafe just looking at a coke I had bought in a glass amazed at how more real and present it looked. A small thing but it was profound just how the world seemed more alive. It literally felt like going back in time 20 years.

So for long term effects. A stronger posture, better muscle tone, improved gum health, vastly more energy, in fact this has become all the norm after around 8 months of this. Many of the effects I described in the first two weeks following a 3 day regimen do taper off to an extent, but never completely.

As far as side effects there has not been anything thus far. When you are taking the 3 day dose you might get amped up a little jittery but that gives way quickly after the last dosage and it normalizes into a even effect that is positive in nature. I was very concerned about hair loss as I could not believe how impactful this was. But I have noticed no hair loss at all. I cycle it with a 3 or 4 week break to ensure that there is no negative effect on hair or otherwise. With a two week interval I had some scalp itchiness. That was enough to back me off to to four week intervals.

I honestly think that most of what I experienced is not the senylotic effect. It’s way too fast and profound. But I have no ill effects and feel incredible. And overall I have a youthful vigor and look and feel younger. I think a senylotic evaluation, as far as a laymen just observing himself goes ,can only really be done after 2 years or so. However the initial results ( especially gum health) and from what else I can observe are overwhelmingly positive.

I can tell you that this does have an affect and it is profound and noticeable. How much of this is hormone I do not know. But I have other improved health as well, however it’s always tricky to quantify this objectively yourself sometimes.

Good luck on your experiments. Let me know if this has the same effect for you. I just bought Swanson’s with nouvestein. Nothing fancy. Cheap and on amazon.

Another thing is that I feel something I'm taking is boosting my T levels.  Had taken DHEA years ago, but gave it up cause felt aggressive and couldn't sleep well.  The feeling now is similar but not as strong..anyway feel that at 66 I need it!

What are you taking for T levels?  What does this mean? The feeling now is similar but not as strong..anyway feel that at 66 I need it!, need what? DHEA?

I got a list, I just need to massage it a bit.

John Ramos I got 2 lbs off Amazon for 22.41, but will get it tomorrow.  Getting off melatonin, so plan on using at night for sleep aid along with all the other great benefits.

    • Van Moore Wow, stupid me, I should  have got it there too. Yes, I think melatonin is pretty much a waste of time, take it for sleep, just remember AKG is the big one life extension wise.

John Ramos Melatonin is one of most powerful anti-oxidants.  After researching I've taken 120 - 180 mg at bedtime for at least 5 years.  I've attached an article by Shallenberger, MD, from Townsend, although I read content from his newsletter I think a year or two prior.

John Ramos  Did you find a source for Apigenin?  You can get it at Swanson's vitamins. I just bought 2 bottles of it. It is also found in chamomille tea:

Of all the flavonoids, Apigenin is one of the most studied bioactive flavones. It is found mainly in vegetables, citrus fruits, herbs, tea, and wine. Chamomile is one of the richest natural sources of apigenin (840 mg/ 100 g) while Chamomile herbal infusions (where dried flower is infused into water) contain 0.8-1.2% apigenin mostly in the form of apigenin-7-O-glucoside.

Just recently read this exciting study that shows apigenin may be protective against Alzheimers. After screening 2560 compounds they found apigenin had this special property. Details:

    • Michael_B I would really look at your intake of Melatonin, I see a lot of danger in taking too much.

Do you have a subscription to ConsumerLabs? A Hypochondriac needs to have one.

John Ramos 1.  New company (at least to me) are offering 250 mg of melatonin -- via suppository, so I'm not interested.  But I'm very comfortable taking 180 mg mel nightly; might increase.  The upside to being a hypochondriac, is we don't miss much!

  • Yes, I do buy Swanson's and take it, it's bit confusing dosing of it. Fisetin is another one that's hard to find the best dosing, 20/mg/kilo of bodyweight is the dose but take it for 2 days with a month or more and what's the proper break? Some say 5 days @ 20/mg/kilo of bodyweight, I'm doing 2 days right now but don't know the proper break.

I also found that taking Magnesium Threonate made a huge difference in clarity of thinking and memory. It crosses the Blood Brain barrier. Dosing on this one is a little murky. I have a kilo, won't run out any time soon.

    Thoughts?

John Ramos I've taken Mag Thre for years -- in the morning, but other mixed MG in evening.  Have you tried various cognitives for metal clarity, etc?  Ginkgo would qualify, but my favorite, over years, & used worldwide for decades is piracetam; helps balance right/left hemisphere, but other benefits too.  For years I had to buy from overseas, but these days I think even Amazon carries.

    • Michael_B Your message brings back memories, piracetam....

I stopped taking Ginkgo, I was getting unexplained bruises, they went away. Just an FYI. Also high doses of Fish oil will do the same thing.

"Ginkgo might slow blood clotting. Taking ginkgo along with medications that also slow blood clotting might increase the risk of bruising and bleeding."

I was taking piracetam(developed by the Russians for their space program) and I don't know why I quit. what is your dosing? I may start taking it again. I would stay away from Amazon, NMN was tested sourced from Amazon and only 2-3 actually had NMN.

Amazon doesn't have piracetam, lots of Mushroom formulations.

I would trust this source, comes from Poland, fast free shipping.

I use 3 other supplements from them, very high quality.

I may get it from China 2 excellent sources I've been from since 2015.

Do you a known good source?

      Dosage information

The standard piracetam dose for children is between 40-100mg per kilogram of bodyweight. This dose is intended for the treatment of breath-holding spells, though it has also been used for children with dyslexia. The lower end of the range (40-50mg/kg) is used most often.
The standard piracetam dose for adults is between 1,200-4,800mg a day. The largest effective dose is 1,600mg, taken three times a day for a total of 4,800mg.

John Ramos I've taken piracetam for 20+ years, with varying doses.  I've always bought tablets, probably mostly 800 mg each, and from 1-2 daily.

John Ramos Thanks for link; not familiar with that company.  I don't know why the "standard" piracetam tablets are not readily available, but maybe just temporary.  I'm not sure a powder from Poland vs product from AMZN is more or less disquieting.  I've bought vits from AMZN for many years, although only from top manufacturers.  Not only are those likely to be at a slight premium price, vs some generic, but both AMZN and especially the manufacturers would constantly be on lookout for counterfeit products.

    • Michael_B I can attest to NutraVita, really good quality, bought 3 supplements in pill form and judging from their low cost shipping, I think this one if shipping from the US.

Anyway, I would highly recommend them.

Name brand supplements from Amazon are trustworthy but NMN was tested , see the link

      https://www.prohealth.com/blogs/wellness/fake-fraudulent-nmn-products-on-amazon-exposed

Piracetam is classified as a research drug, that's why it's hard to find.

Funny, just checked & although can search on AMZN for piracetam 800 mg, they do not seem to carry the produce now; maybe previously.  But I bought for years the brand sold by IAS, but just now, seems that their I think U.S. store is out of the product.  Odd, as this is one of the oldest cognitive drugs.  I still have a supply, so have a month or so to find a current source.

Generally, I'm more comfortable buying a name brand on AMZN, rather than from China, or even Indian source.  But most supplements there are several top manufacturers on AMZN;  I avoid lowest price items.  I just doubt that making erroneous piracetam or other items I buy from AMZN is prime area for criminals.

  • I'm checking with my source, truth to be told, I would say that about 80-85% of supplements come from China, they are excellent biochemists. I have 2 trusted sources that I have been using since 2015.

      David C

      1.  Buying:  I  noticed this morning that a few products of Fisetin are either out-of-stock, or the price has increased considerably.  I'm esp interested in 500 mg caps, but I saw one offering 1,000 mg.  And one 50 gram in powder form.  Recommendations?

      2.  Monitoring:  Personal feedback is super impt, but has anyone monitored some ez tools, e.g., blood pressure; Oximeter  readings; pulse, in addition to some blood work such as CR-P. LDL, PSA ?  Preferably, history of 6 months, including days before, during, & after F + Q dosing?

      3.  Including other info would also be helpful:  diet, exercise, supplements, any Rx drugs, etc.  Also age, weight, as well as either specific health issues, or at least a level of health issues.  Likely a 30 year-old, will have very different response than 70 y.o.  Also, one 70 y.o. in relatively good health, will not respond with same changes as someone with cancer, etc.

Possibly also helpful, would be health history / habits, over prior 5 - 20 years.  Someone whom spent youth drinking, and/or various drugs, likely have different senescent cells 30 years later.  Rx for SSRIs, statins, beta-blockers, etc., may also be of interest.
